Camera & Photos: When you use the recipe scanner feature, photos you take are sent to our AI processing service (OpenAI) for text extraction. These images are processed in real-time and are not stored by us or by OpenAI after processing. Photos you choose to attach to recipes or gatherings are stored in our cloud service.

When you use the AI-powered planning features, the following data is sent to our AI processing providers to generate menu suggestions:
Your data is stored on cloud servers hosted by Supabase (built on PostgreSQL). This enables cross-device access to your gatherings, guest RSVP functionality via shared links, and AI-powered features that require server-side processing.
We implement appropriate security measures including:
Certain features (shopping list check-offs, day-of task tracking) work offline using on-device storage. This data syncs with the cloud when connectivity is restored.
Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses).
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives a unique user identifier, subscription status (active/expired/trial), and platform (iOS/Android). RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any gathering data.
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with the App. PostHog collects anonymized usage data including screens viewed and features used, session duration and frequency, and device type and OS version. We actively scrub personally identifiable information (PII) from analytics events. PostHog data is used solely to improve the App experience.
We use Sentry to detect and fix bugs. When an error occurs, Sentry may collect error type and stack trace, device and OS information, and app version. Sentry data does not include your personal information, gathering details, or guest data.
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

When you invite guests to a gathering, they can view the gathering date, time, and occasion, the menu you've selected, and other guests' names and contributions (potluck only). Guests cannot see your account details, other gatherings, or dietary preferences you've set for them.

We will respond to requests within 30 days.
RE Gather is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at garrett@cascademobile.dev. If we discover we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. For users between 13 and 18, parental consent is recommended.
If you use the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers, including standard contractual clauses, Privacy Shield certification (where applicable), and adequacy decisions.

The App does not use cookies. We may use similar technologies for remembering your preferences, analytics (anonymized via PostHog), and crash reporting (via Sentry). You can limit tracking through your device settings:

We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App, updating the "Last Updated" date, and sending a notification for material changes. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
